Tuition and Vacation Policies
To understand the missed class, vacation and cancellation policies, it is important to keep in mind that the fees is really per month per kid and is very hard to subdivide. We do not break it down per class as sometimes there are federal or other holidays that need to be accommodated and then on the flip side, there are months with 5 weeks and we do not charge more for them. Additionally, we always try to do the right thing by the kids including putting in extra time where classes stretch if kids need more time to finish something they are in middle of and extra time during competitions when parents and kids need our help outside the class. We do not track or charge for this extra time. That being said, here are the policies to better help you understand how we manage the various holidays, vacations and missed classes.
Tuition is due by the 7th of the month. There is a $10 penalty per week after that. This fees cannot be waived.
Classes continue throughout the year, including summer vacations. If a kid misses a class, makeup classes are at the discretion of the instructor if they can accommodate you. Missing a class does not change your tuition.
Classes are canceled on all Federal holidays except MLK day and President’s day and are also cancelled on long Weekends right before or right after Federal holidays, Halloween evening, Thanksgiving (Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday), the day before Christmas and all the way to the end of the year and January 1st. These official days off do not change your monthly tuition.
If a parent is going on a vacation greater than two weeks, with an advance notice of at least two weeks, we will prorate the fees for that month. In case of proration, the tuition will be (1/4 monthly tuition multiplied by the number of classes that the kid attends.)
For any other special considerations, please talk to the instructors.
